Google’s Malware Protection
Posted on 07. May, 2009 by Marc McDermott in SEO
I woke up this morning, got my cup of coffee and fired up the computer. I went through my usual morning routine of checking website rankings and analytic reports from the previous day. Only today I noticed that all my SERP pages in Google had anti-malware warnings for EVERY page. I was quite taken back by this, however it only seemed to last a few hours or so. SearchEngineLand.com actually wrote up a nice piece today on this same observation.
If we take one thing out of this sudden ‘experiment’ done by Google, it should be this: Google is in business to provide RELEVANT SERPS!
Think about it, if you were looking for the latest football scores, you search Google, and you’re SERPs are filled with stuff about football’s for sale. You would immediately go to Yahoo and/or MSN Live to search again. Google now loses a customer, and potential advertising revenues.
RELEVANCE: The key to search engines and search engine optimization. Write that down…
